The National Board for Professional Teaching Standards works to strengthen the teaching profession and to improve student learning in America's schools.  North Carolina currently has 1262 National Board Certified Teachers.

This Town Meeting session from NCCAT is designed to help teachers better understand the Assessment Center for the National Board Certification process.   Participants in this meeting will have the opportunity to ask questions about this process.  Questions that will be discussed include:

Linda Iovacchini

Ms. Iovacchini has assisted National Board Candidates both at NCCAT as well nationally through her presentations and publications with the National Board of Professional Teaching Standards. She currently serves as a Performance Based Licensure Consultant with the Western Region Educational Service Alliance (RESA) in Canton, NC.

A long-time classroom teacher in Elementary, Middle, and University levels, Linda earned her Ed.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of South Carolina in 1999. She earned her Ed.S. and M.Ed in Middle Grades education at Western Carolina University.

Since 1996, Ms. Iovacchini provided assistance to National Board Candidates at conferences across North Carolina as well as at the NBPTS National Conference in Washington, DC.
