Under the leadership of Debbie Core, Gaston County has had three successful Tech Fairs. During the Town Meeting Debbie will share effective strategies she has used to showcase the outstanding things that are taking place in the classrooms throughout her county.

Teachers may want to consider the following items:

• What type of technology emphasis does your school/county have?
• Have you ever attended a local technology fair/exhibit? If so, what was effective?
• Are teachers in your school/county willing to share about how they are using technology to enhance their teaching?
• What would be a good time and location for a technology fair in your school/county?

Debra, a member of the Technical Support Services in Gaston County, coordinates technology staff development projects and is an Instructional Technology Specialist for the 51 schools in the Gaston County Schools.

For the past two years she has successfully implemented the Technology Literacy Challenge Grant - Comprehensive Technology Staff Development: A Layered Approach

Debra has been part of the Gaston County School System for twenty-two years and is active in promoting communication and information technologies. She has served on the board of directors and regional contact for North Carolina Association of Educators of Communication Technologies.
