Technology Specialists: Transcript
Objective: To provide a forum for Instructional Technologists to share ideas and trade strategies to help us keep our "heads above water". The session will focus on strategies of empowering school personnel in the use of technology.

Janet McLendon is the Instructional Technologist at Broad Creek Middle School in Carteret County. She is no stranger to incorporating technology into the curriculum. Janet started her career in 1984 at Beaufort Elementary School as a teacher assistant. She collaborated with teachers to help find and use software to enhance their instruction.
Janet went back to school and has received a BS degree in Elementary Ed (K-6) with a concentration in Science and a MAEd in Instructional Technology from East Carolina University. She has helped write K-8 English/Language Arts curriculum for Carteret County Schools and has facilitated the K-5 math and science curriculum writing. She is currently serving on the Technology Skills Curriculum Revision committee at NCDPI. Janet has done numerous presentations at technology conferences across as well as PEP. She will be co-present at the Accelerated Schools Conference in New Orleans in January 1999. bcm@mail.clis.com
