With the study of the colonial period, students on the Sharks Team work collaboratively on teams to complete a Williamsburg WebQuest.   Since many of the resources used in the project are from the Internet, student teams used computers in all the three classrooms and the media center.

Students Team Work

Researching Using the Internet

Each social studies class was broken into groups of four students, who were responsible for creating an edition of the WILLIAMSBURG GAZETTE.  For this fictional newspaper, each student wrote three articles with accompanying illustrations.

The articles were written from the perspective of a colonial person and discussed accounts from their everyday life. Some articles pertained to historic colonial events or people. Other articles discussed customs, holidays, clothing and food from the colonial time period.

Planning the Newspaper

Students presented projects on Monday, November 6.
