Positively Trashy began in June 1999 at the North Carolina Center for the Advancement of Teaching in Cullowhee, NC. It was developed in part by the North Carolina State Department of Public Instruction and Teachers Connect. The driving forces behind the site are Betsy Alexander (Cabarrus County), Glenn Gurley (Gaston County), and Andy Watson (Cabarrus County). The intent is to provide educational environment resources that support the North Carolina Standard Course of Study for teachers and students in grades 5 - 8.
