Overview
During this session the participants will examine videoconferencing as an activity structure by analysis of Teachers Connect's Town Meeting.  After reading a teacher and student transcript, participants will discuss the educational value of Town Meetings through an eGroup chat.

Assignment:

Read and summarize Town Meeting transcripts

Go to poll on eGroup and indicate if you will attend the 7 p.m. or the 8 p.m. chat session.  Be sure to enter/modify  selection before noon on Thursday.

Select two Town Meetings from selections in the eGroup database one geared towards students, the other towards teachers.

Indicate on the Town Meeting database your selections.    In eGroups, edit the record in the Town Meeting database.   Enter your name beside the record of your selected titles.  Each transcript is limited to two readers.

Read the two transcripts. Include the following information as you create a digital summary of your two articles:

Topic of Town Meeting
Guest - biographical information
Session focus/audience
Ways to benefit students/teachers
