Overview
Project-based learning hinges on the active engagement of students in constructing their own knowledge and understanding. This class project will afford participants the opportunity to apply the knowledge gained in this course to produce a Town Meeting from the securing of a date and guest to the creation of the transcripts of the session.    The timeline of this project includes:

  • Session 2 - Class discussion of project

  • Session 3 - Posting of Town Meeting Topics

  • Session 4 - Formation of teams

  • Session 5 - Project team planning

  • Session 6 - Deadline for submission of Town Meeting date and promotional page

  • Session 7 - Town Meetings continue (April 17 - May 12)

  • May 12, 2000 - Town Meetings completed and transcripts submitted

Ask questions about this project during the class chat during Session 2.

Post ideas for Town Meeting on the Forum - review posts before Session 4.

Become part of a team of four and assign roles which include responsibilities for:

Securing of and assistance to guest.

Creating and submission of the Town Meeting promotional information.

Reserving of reflector and sending out promotional information.  Be sure to include IP/Host Name: 209.19.87.35 and Conference ID: 75

Hosting and participating in the Town Meeting.

Creating and submitting session transcript.

Complete project within timeline.

Submit a written reflection of this experience.
