List and describe highlights in your role as a professional educator. Three years experience as a Instructional Assistant. Two years experience as a classroom teacher.

• I use technology to help enhance the math and writing skills of my students.

List some of the things that you are most interested in learning during the next two weeks of this MAST II workshop.

• I would like to be able to integrate technology better in my classroom, especially with science.

List the technology that is available for use by your students.

• The children have access to computers, digital cameras, and video cameras

What are two of your goals for yourself as an educator in the future?

• To obtain a Master's Degree in History
• To be Nationally Board Certified

Describe something you have done for students during the past year which had an outcome that you were particularly pleased with.

• I am very pleased with the fact that I really helped the children to develop positive self-images of themselves.

What are some of your hobbies?

• I like to read historical novels, sing, and dance.

What is one of your favorite places to travel to and why?

• Of all the places that I've been, New York is the most interesting because there is such a microcosm of things to do and the diversity is great!!!

Tell about yourself.

My husband Herbert and I have been married for seventeen years and we have no children. I have one dog, Midnight, two sisters, Lottie and Monique. I have one brother, Aaron, and my father, Jesse Thomas, turned 80 this year and still works 40 hours a week. I am a member of the St. James Baptist Church in Leasburg, NC where I am a member of the Missionary Circle, and I sing with two choirs. I am also a member of the Greater Brandon Chapel Order of the Eastern Star, Alton Va. I am a member of the North Carolina Museums Council. I am a member of the Durham Association of Educators, North Carolina Association of Educators, and the National Education Association.  I have earned another B.A. (elementary education) and am currently working on a Master's in History (secondary education).  I have also been teaching for 7 years.
