Professional Duties: I am currently teaching North Carolina's Standard Course of Study for 8th graders. I, also, supervise and support teachers in our Afterschool Program (known as the Challenge Academy).

Hobbies and Interests: I am a native Floridian. My hometown is Jacksonville, Fla. I enjoy traveling to resorts, major cities, and taking cruises. I am a small business owner (Mama's Barbeque). My husband and I do catering and pig pickins in North Carolina. I have two teenage daughters (Melanie and Erica), and we keep a busy schedule with their interests in basketball, guitar, percussion and dance.

Application of Technology: I, currently, encourage students to use the internet for current research data, and we create websites with with our local data to publish on the internet. We use lots of desktop publishing in my class throughout the year.
