Project 2
Tab's Computer Generated Nets
On Computer #1 - Start the Tabs program.
Create nets of an object that has two or more geometric shapes. Be sure to look at the
wire and solid views. When the object is completed and colored, print and then construct.
Example: A sphere sitting on a base

Geometry Project 3
Formula Rap Song
Create a rap song that gives some of the
formulas for calculating the surface area or volume of solids.
Example: The area of a circle is pi r2
|

Ready, OK (2 times)
Ready cube you know you have six faces and
your volume is LxWxH so lets go cube and fight fight.
Ready, sphere ~ if we didn't include the
volume it wouldn't be fair for the volume of a sphere is 4 pi r2.
Ready, cylinder lets go the volume is pi r2 h
don't get confused its not the same pie that goes on a plate. |

Geometry Project 4
Geometric Story
Create an original short story
using vocabulary learned during our study of geometry.
Example: The two boys made a secret
passageway to their camp using the huge concrete cylinder shaped drainage pipe that ran
under the old road.

Geometry Project 5
Geometric Art
Use Microsoft Paint to create a
drawing consisting of geometric shapes. Use each of the basic shapes (triangular prism,
rectangular prism, cone, pyramid, cylinder, and sphere) at least once in the drawing.

Geometry Project 6
LaserDisc Images
Use the Image Bank to select
samples of as many geometric shapes as possible. Name the object, the geometry shape(s),
and barcode number. Print the barcode number using the BarKoder program. |

Geometry Project 7
DVD Geometry Word Problems
Use the Rainforest DVD to find
geometric shapes that are found in nature. Write the name of the object, the geometric
shape, and barcode number. Use the video blackboard feature to point out the object or
write a word problem about the object. |
|
Geometry Project 9
Tessellations
Create a new tessellation or use
the shape of one you like. Trace onto paper (fill page with the repeating patter) then
color.
Example: see pages 407 - 410 in your textbook

.Geometry
Project 10
Origami
Create an original
creation using the Japanese art of origami. Color and name the shapes that makes up your
object.
Example: see pages 439 in your
textbook.
