Glenn taught middle school science for twenty years before becoming the Lead Teacher in Instructional Technology for the Gaston County School System.    He recently completed his second year as an Educator-on-Loan to the Department of Public Instruction with the Teachers Connect project.  In this position Glenn worked with Instructional Technology initiatives across the state and with the DPI Curriculum and Instruction section.  In this role he designed and implemented models of effective integration into instruction and has:

As a classroom teacher for twenty years, Glenn practiced activity, "real life" project-based learning utilizing current technologies.   In the fall of 2000, Glenn has returned to the classroom where he taught eighth grade mathematics at Mt. Holly Middle School on the Sharks Team. He presently is the Academy Coordinator for the Communications and Information Technology Academy at Highland School of Technology. He works with a team of students to create the school's website.

As a grant writer, he funded technology for his classroom and has co-authored Gaston County's Technology Literacy Challenge Fund Grant for the past five years.

In December, Glenn completed his fifth and final year as a Pioneer Mentor.  In this role he presented at state, regional, and national conference strategies for integrating technology into instruction. 

He is the current webmaster for the North Carolina Teacher Academy.  He has been a trainer and team leader in "Integrating Technology into Instruction" for the Academy since 1995.  He has been actively involved in this module and  "Technology Connections: Instruction and Productivity" as a member of the writing teams for the offerings in technology integration. In 2002 he was a member of the Spring Follow-up writing team that wrote an online course on Digital Portfolios which was offered to NC Teacher Academy participants.

Glenn graduated from UNC-Charlotte in 1976 with a Bachelor of Arts in Science.  He completed his Master's of Arts in Middle School Education in 1981 from Appalachian State University.   Most recently he completed his studies at UNC-Chapel Hill in the Carolina Online Teacher (COLT) program sponsored by LEARN NC and has created an online course on WebQuests and Digital Portfolios.
