Body Presentation Days - May 30 - June 2.
Topics:
Each group will select one system of the human body. Points Possible:
Group - 120, Individual - 45. Stars: "*" indicates that this activity
is due earlier than the rest of the project. *
System
Research (20 Points) - Use books, encyclopedias, magazines, people,
experiments, laser disks, CD ROMs, etc. to get information about
your system. Also, go to libraries, interview people, etc. Take
notes on 4" by 6" cards. Be sure to keep these well organized. Each
person must complete at least 10 cards of notes. These cards will
be turned in. Members Responsible: All.
HyperStudio
Stack (40 points) - Prepare a HyperStudio stack with at least 8
cards. This stack should have information about each part of your
system. There should be lots of detailed written information in
the HyperStudio stack. The stack should include a drawing of the
entire system, other hand drawn pictures, text, sounds, animation,
QuickTake images, and video images (QuickTime). See Stack Handout
for more details. Members Responsible: All.
A Video
Voyage (30 points) - Prepare a five to ten minute voyage which explains,
in detail, each part of the system your group is responsible for.
Costumes, a script, and a storyboard are all required before taping.

Famous
Organs (15 points) - Each member of your group must do a two minute
presentation on a part of your system (lung, kidney, etc.). Two
minute presentations must be done in costume, and MUST BE MEMORIZED.

Questions
and Answers (10 points) - Prepare a list of five or more interesting
questions your group has about your system. During the next few
weeks, find out the answers. Type up the questions and answers and
hand in during your presentation.

Sheet (10 points) - Prepare a list of at least twenty different
interesting facts about your body system. These will be handed out
during the presentation.

Presentation
(10 points) - Plan a 40 minute presentation describing what you
have done and learned in this project. Your presentation should
include all of the things you have written, drawn, etc. You should
have an outline for your presentation which your group practices
before presenting.

Health
Brochure (10 points) - Create a three fold brochure which highlights
some important information about taking care of this system. The
brochure should be interesting, neat, and accurate.

Picture
Book (10 points)- Create a picture book which will show and tell
your Little Buddy all about a trip through the system your group
is studying.

Display (10 points) - Create a hand drawn picture of the system
your group is responsible for. Show every organ or part and write
a description of what each does.

Will Be Based On:

Neatness throughout the assignments.
- All
parts of the project should be well organized.
- You
should be completely familiar with all materials which will be
presented to the class.
- All
written assignments must be carefully edited.
- You
should have at least three different sources (books, interviews,
software, etc.) for your information. Any videotaped presentations
should be carefully rehearsed before they are taped.
- The
work load will be shared equally by all group members.
