Connectivities
: Active Learning on the WebThe Internet expands the horizons of classrooms by opening doors all around the World. How do we deal with some of the fundamental changes in teaching and training that must occur?
Experts advise educators to use self-directed learning approaches and engaging student activities, which include resources on the web. Connectivities brings it all together by suggesting relevant, manageable solutions.
During this workshop various activity structures that are vehicles for creating and using active learning experiences within a classroom-based course will be introduced and range from CU-See Me videoconferences to WebQuests and Online Projects. Use of the Internet in a safe and productive way with students of all ages and in all curricular areas will be demonstrated.
Participants will experience active learning first-hand
and see that it puts the responsibility of organizing what is to be learned in the hands
of the learners themselves, and ideally lends itself to a more diverse range of learning
styles. Participants will leave with resources and handouts for creating Connectivities
for/with their classes.
